Miami may have diversified its reputation in recent years as a world-class art destination and a hipster’s paradise, but its status as the country’s sexiest party destination remains one of its biggest claims to fame. With sleek hotel bars, raucous pool parties, stunning rooftop lounges, not to mention a slew of good-looking locals, all at its disposal, Miami’s party scene is guaranteed to stay hot all year round. Even the most diehard art snobs can get behind that.
Hyde Beach
If you want to go all out at one of South Beach’s most rollicking pool parties, there’s no place like Hyde Beach. The Saturday party at the SLS Hotel’s poolside lounge brings the fantasy image of Miami to life – beautiful people strolling around in swimsuits, private cabanas surrounding the pool and plenty of drinks and music. And, to keep things quirky, a giant rubber ducky statue designed by Philippe Starck.
Living Room
Hotel bars will always get extra points in the sexy column by virtue of having rooms for rent just upstairs – but they can also tip over into sleazy just as easily. Fortunately Living Room at the W South Beach is as chic as they come, with sultry poolside seating, a dark, atmospheric lounge and expert bartenders. After you’re sufficiently imbibed, head to onsite club the Wall to keep the party going.
Skip dinner and head straight to Touché’s rooftop lounge for views of downtown Miami. The views and drinks make the ambience unbeatable, but if you’re in the mood to keep the party going, it’s worth mentioning the restaurant sits atop a high-end strip club.
Foxhole
Marked only by a red light in the alleyway, Foxhole lands somewhere between a dive bar and a cool speakeasy. Good beats and cheap drinks (by South Beach standards that is) draw a young party-happy crowd, but truth be told, it may be the supremely good-looking and friendly bartenders that keep the crowds returning.
Who says hotels get to have all the fun? The Freehand’s Broken Shaker proves a hostel isn’t just for pub-crawling backpackers. Weekdays are a relaxed affair at the poolside cocktail bar, but on weekends the place is packed with hot hipsters trying to take someone home.
1930s House
The Thompson Hotel’s has made itself one of the best places for a cocktail with not one but two stellar bars on site. Hidden away by the pool, the wonderfully clandestine 1930s House is the sexier of the two venues. It’s vintage vibes add to the mystique, and the poolside location and DJs and live music make it perfect for people watching.Luxury rentals in Miami, Miami, What to do in Miami, Where to stay in Miami
